A Call for a New Conversation on Marriage

A Call for a New Conversation on Marriage

Institute for American Values, 2013 - 8 pages

In this public statement, 75 American leaders from across the political spectrum and social science propose a new conversation on marriage – one that brings together gays and lesbians who want to strengthen marriage with straight people who want to do the same. The new conversation does not presuppose or require agreement on gay marriage, but id does ask a new questions. The current question is: "Should gays marry?" The new question is: "Who among us, gay or straignt, wants to strengthen marriage?"
