Researchers: Even amicable divorces take toll on children and their religious attendance

Researchers, who plan to unveil their findings Wednesday at Chicago's Fourth Presbyterian Church, say they hope the unprecedented project will awaken pastors to a common oversight contributing to the decline in mainline Christian denominations and religious affiliation in general... Marquardt, who also is director of the Center for Marriage and Families at the Institute for American Values in New York City, said the outcome of the study could have an impact on Protestant churches that rely on the next generations to secure their future.
